Memorizing Lines

This is a random rant:
I HATE MEMORIZING
I HATE PUBLIC SPEAKING
I HATE CRAMMING EVEN THOUGH I ALWAYS DO THAT.

Today, I am memorizing my persuasive speech about "Yes to organ donation" on Thursday. Here's the manuscript:

Yes to Organ Donation

Have you ever heard about organ donation? If you already have, did you know that you can save lives? Today, a lot of ill people needed organ transplants to prolong their lives, and by donating your organs after you have passed away would be considered as an act to charity by many people around the world. Organ transplants can save lives. Today, I would like to convince you that organ donation could be viewed in a positive light, because by donating organs you can save lives, can give hope to the hopeless and can help donor families in their grieving process.

Organ donation is the harvesting of an individual's organs after he or she dies for the purpose of transplanting them into another person. Organs that can be transplanted are the heart, kidneys, liver, lungs, pancreas, intestine, and thymus. Tissues include bones, tendons, cornea, skin, heart valves, and veins. Worldwide, the kidneys are the most commonly transplanted organs, while musculoskeleletal transplants outnumber them by more than tenfold.

Organ donors are usually Brain dead, meaning that they only live with the help or aid of a machine. Lately there have been 99,200 individuals awaiting transplants in the United States, and by the year 2008, there have been about 4,400 transplants that have taken place with organs harvested from roughly from 2,200 donors. Every day, between 16 and 17 people die while waiting for a transplant. And of the 99,200 individuals waiting for a transplant, over 10 percent of these are children.

Organ Donation is beneficiary to us. First, it helps the grieving process of the donor families. Knowing that the corneas or heart of the person who just died, can help another person see or even live can be very comforting. They receive some peace knowing that something positive has come out of the death. Second, for those receiving the organs, these transplants can mean a second chance at life. For some, it means being able to see, while for others, it can mean actually being able to live. And lastly, it can lead to a better quality of life. For an instance of individuals who are dependent on kidney dialysis and receive a kidney transplant can return to living a regular lifestyle without machines.

We all must have a positive attitude towards organ donation. Donating organs would not disrespect your remains after you have passed away, but donating organs is an act of charity which is accepted in a lot of religious sects of society. Donating organs should also be a social responsibility in helping others to survive. Do you know that thousands of people die because they cannot find for any donors? Organ donation really helps people. Not only does it help your loved ones in coping up with the loss but you will also be the source of life towards others.

Organ donation gives another chance at life to those people who would otherwise die. It is a beautiful bequest that we can make happen. Since the eyes can continue seeing and the heart can continue beating after our death, we continue to live through someone else. The gift of life is the most amazing gift anybody can give. After we have passed away, we have no further use of our organs, why should we deprive others from using them? Please consider what I said today.

Hahaha so long!!!
