Onemanga is closing

A few days ago, I usually go into my usual habit of reading manga scanlations at Onemanga.com. Whenever I go to the site, I usually read manga updates of Weekly Shonen Jump, particularly Naruto and Bleach. However, during the past few days, they live a note saying that:

The removal of content will happen gradually (so you can at least finish some of the outstanding reading you have), but we expect all content to be gone by early next week (RIP OM July '10).

So what next? We're not really sure at this point, but we have some ideas we would like to try out. Until then, the One Manga forums will remain active and we encourage all of you to continue using them. OMF has developed into a great community and it would be a shame to see that disappear.

Regardless of whether you stay with us or not, on behalf of the One Manga team, I would like to thank you all for your unwavering support over the years. Through the ups and downs you have stuck with us, and that is what kept us going.

As a certain Porky was fond of saying... That's all folks!

Time for me to go lay down and let this all sink in.

In truth, it really pains me that Onemanga would be shutting down. My cousin told me "Its alright, we have MangaFox"... then I visited the site, and then they said that Naruto manga has been licensed.

So what could I say with this tragedy?

I seriously wanted to COMPLAIN!!! For me, I feel like my life is sucked-up into a deep dark hole (maybe like a black hole in outer space). I also feel like my inspiration level might run very low...

I know that reading manga for free at net is something not so acceptable to mangakas... because they couldn't find any profit for something they did for free. But in my part, I don't like to wait for years before I read the latest chapters of my favorite mangas... :(

If I were rich, maybe I would really buy all the volumes of my favorite mangas, and maybe perhaps, I could have done a library full of it. BUT, unfortunately, I don't have much money to buy all those things... :(

eternal sadness...

Anyways, wouldn't the manga authors think that, the more people who read their mangas, their stories would burst up into the popularity charts?? or, if popularity is not enough, don't they know that the mangas they draw and write can greatly influence another person's life?

I hope somebody understands my plight... please help in changing their minds... I think, if I were a mangaka, money would be the least of my priorities. If I had their good fortune, I would be happy enough to know that I can touch a lot of people's lives just with my insights I get in my life.

...

ON THE SIDE NOTE:
Maybe it is not the mangakas who oppose in free scanlations,
rather...
It is the publishing company of the manga.
but even so...
:(
